Skipper Training 

My goal is to share my passion for sailing and my extensive experience on the water. As your personal coach, I’ll provide support and guidance every step of the way, helping you reach your individual sailing goals while building confidence.

The program of this week is based on the RYA Yachtmaster syllabus, but will be fully tailored towards your individual objectives.​ Common focus is on:

​

  • berthing/unberthing (anlegen/ablegen), including use of lines

  • sail trim and sail manoeuvres 

  • crew organisation and management

  • pilotage and (electronic) navigation

  • passage planning

  • person overboard recovery manoeuvre

  • nightsailing; considerations and experience

​

The skipper training week has proven to be particularly popular among:

​

  • RYA Dayskippers in need of improving skills and confidence before enrolling in the RYA Coastal Skipper course

  • German SKS skippers, in need of more practice and experience

  • Swiss Hochseeschein skippers, looking for boathandling practice on a larger sailing yacht in more challenging, windy conditions

The skipper training week can be booked in combination with a milebuilding week as a 2 week package ​​​​​

LOCATION AND BOAT

The homeport is Marina Lanzarote in Arrecife, a 15 min. taxi drive from the airport. We will sail fast, luxurious and well equipped 3 cabin Salona40 with max. 4 students.

THE PROGRAM

The week's itinerary will be based on a mix of skill training and shorter passages, with one of the students in charge as skipper.

DATES

The week will start and finish on Saturdays;  6 days of training, 7 nights onboard.

Prices start at €1250 including food onboard, fuel and marina fees
