As many of you know, the Netherlands is Richard’s home and sailing grounds for most of his life. He has put together a fantastic sailing itinerary and we both welcome you to join us.

​

Yalla, our First 40.7 will be based in the picturesque town of Enkhuizen on the Ijsselmeer, easily accessible from Schiphol airport by train (less then 2 hour train ride).

 

The Ijsselmeer offers pleasant, non tidal sailing with many attractive historical towns to visit.

 

A one day sail from Enkhuizen takes us to the Waddenzee, the challenging tidal northern part of the Netherlands. Navigating this area requires careful passage planning based on the proper calculation of tidal heights and tidal streams. This is one of the best areas to put to practice what you have been learning about tides.

 

Destinations will be the islands of Texel, Vlieland or Terschelling, each with it’s own natural beauty, endless beaches and small island charm.

 

The return passage can either offer more tidal challenges in the Waddenzee, or a proper offshore passage navigating the Northsea.

A long North Sea passage will bring Amsterdam in reach, from where an easy day sail will get us back to the homeport of Enkhuizen.

​

This sailing area is suitable for students who are working towards their RYA Coastal Skipper certificate. We will be offering the RYA Competent Crew and Coastal Skipper programs and Atlantic Sailing's Pre-Coastal Skipper training and Coastal Skipper PLUS programs. 

 

You will  be missing the blue ocean, steady winds and the sunshine of the Canaries, but we can guarantee that what you get in return for sailing with us in the Netherlands will be more than worth it.

Price for 5-days sailing/6-nights on board:

Euro 950 per person based on cabin sharing.

Marina fees and fuel included.

Basic breakfast, lunch, beverages are included.

You will need to bring your own sleeping bag and towel.
